Prior to starting Grand Kitchen +Bath, Julie Burch and Richard Valmain worked as building contractors doing room additions. They found themselves doing more kitchen and baths, so decided to specialize on that. There wasn't much competition at the time, they say. GK+B opened spring 2004 with one small display. Just 2 ½ years later, they outgrew the space and moved. And then that space became too small, too. In 2009, they moved to their current location at 2600 Fourth St N, St. Petersburg.
GK+B is more than a cabinet store. They specialize in design and space planning, helping clients with decisions and selections, and also offer project management and supervision, and even complete home/condo remodeling services. Because they are state-certified building contractors, they can help with any construction needs.
Julie and Richard donate to the Gulf Beach Rotary Club, St. Petersburg Rotary Club and CASA. Habitat for Humanity has benefited several times from their “spring cleaning,” Julie says. "We keep our eyes out for cabinets or appliances that can be recycled to a new owner."
